A Day in the Life

 

  • Use your scientific and technical knowledge to solve real-world scientific problems in life-science areas and beyond.  Identify the best approach and advise our customers on their data integration challenges. You translate their requirements into custom integrations and solutions.
  • Implement – along with your colleagues – the ETL and semantic integration of data for customer data sources in DISQOVER using semantic web technologies.
  • Establish relationships based on trust with our customers by being one of their first point of contact and a sparring partner on scientific and technical matters, including end-user training and product support.
  • Ensure the delivery at a level of excellence. This involves proper project set up and planning to achieve the customer’s goals; specifying, coordinating and executing the implementation work.
  • Ensure proper adoption of our platform and customer satisfaction, hand in hand with the Strategic Account Manager.
  • Stay on top of our domain, share your knowledge and collaborate closely with the product development team.
  • Prepare to travel occasionally.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

  • A degree with a strong scientific background (Ph.D. level preferred) like bioinformatics, molecular biology
  • 2-5 years of experience working in a technical role
  • Hard-working self-starter capable of concurrently running multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to communicate and teach complicated concepts.
  • Detail-orientation with an ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with software and front-end development
  • An ability to grasp customers’ needs and suggest timely solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding capabilities with data management, data model and data transformation
  • Good analytics skills, and solution driven mindset
  • 3+ years of industry experience working would be a definitive advantage, especially in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology chemical company, a contract research organization, a consulting company, a provider of scientific software.
  • Familiar with life science (medical, pharmaceutical, biological) jargon

A definite plus would be knowledge of or experience with…

  • Familiarity with networks, graph-based technologies, linked data, RDF, ontology and semantic is an advantage
  • One development language (Python, Java, Perl, C++..)
  • Familiar with Linux Environment
  • Project management
  • Training experience
